Basic Purpose and ObjectiveDrill Operator operates drill machines for the manufacture of all types of fasteners. Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates up to two drill machines to produce machined parts according to blueprints, specifications and/or special instructions.Starts and operates machine operation to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls and machine as required.Operates machine on trial run to check accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.Checks parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers and gauges and perform SPCRecognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools. Major discrepancies are reported to supervisor.Identifies, disassembles, and determines corrective action required to repair work or broken parts.Checks tooling and reworks as needed to keep machine running.Lays out parts for successive and continuous machining operations.Must be able to troubleshoot cutters and fingers. Tooling necessary for setup and operation.Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards, by following blueprints or work instructions.Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number, or parts to be checked.Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.Other duties may be assigned. Skills and Formal Training Requirements/ExperienceAble to read, comprehend, and execute directions from mechanical drawings.Able to measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. California Screw Products Corporation is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer, committed to a diverse work force and a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
